Charlie Sawyer       

                                          

Charles "Charlie" Wesley Sawyer, Jr. was born to Charles Sr. and Clara Sawyer on February 1, 1947 and passed away on April 9, 2009 at the age of 63.

He wore many hats throughout his life in Watonga; a mechanic, farmer, working for the Pioneer Telephone and the Blaine County Soil Conservation District, just to name a few, besides being a husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather.

On July 9, 1965 he married Barbara Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Vivian; and one daughter, Dorinda Schaefer.

He is survived:
     his wife, Barbara of the home in Watonga
     one son, Kent Sawyer of Cordell, Oklahoma
     one daughter, Melinda (Mindy) Smith of Dallas, Texas
     grandchildren, Kristen Schaefer and Parker Smith
     one sister, Vera Hoar of Prague, Oklahoma

Graveside services will be held Monday, 2:00 pm, April 13, 2009 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga, Oklahoma with the Reverend Orvil Peters officiating.  Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga, Oklahoma is in charge of arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Kristen Schaefer college fund, through First State Bank in Watonga, Oklahoma.
