Dick Lewis Barnes

Dick Lewis Barnes was born July 15, 1940 to Thomas Lewis Barnes and Mozell Ramey Barnes at Watonga, Oklahoma and passed away April 7, 2006 at his home in Watonga at the age of 65.

He was a graduate of Watonga High School in 1958 and married Barbara Clark on July 20, 1963 in Watonga where they have since resided.  He was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Watonga at an early age and attended regularly with his grandmother, Julia Ramey.  Dick worked as a land man for many years throughout several states most recently for TS Dudley Land Company of Oklahoma City.  He enjoyed traveling, meeting and making many friends.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well drinking coffee with his buddies and spending time with his granddaughter and family get-togethers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his maternal and paternal grandparents, three brother, Dean Gorman, Dee Gorman, Don Gorman and one special granddaughter, Kelli Dawn Barnes.

His is survived by:
     his wife, Barbara, of the home in Watonga
     one son, Tommy Barnes of Gage, Oklahoma
     one granddaughter, Katelyn Dawn Pratt
     one grandson, Jessie Dean Pratt and their mother Jennifer Ann Pratt all of Gage
     one brother-in-law, Bruce Clark and wife Nelda of Fay, Oklahoma
     sisters-in-law; Freda Edsall and husband Dwayne Edsall of Watonga; Joyce Pryor and husband Edward of Hennessey; Linda Hazel and husband Earl of Hennessey; Phyllis Hinckley and husband Russell of Edmond; Judy Hazel and husband Wayne of Anthony, Kansas
     and a host of nieces and nephews who will always remember uncle Dick as "Dickie Doo".

Funeral services for Dick Barnes will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the Nazarene Church in Watonga with Dee Humphreys officiating.  Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga with Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga in charge of arrangements.
