Edward Cartwright, Jr. Edward Cartwright Jr. was born July 3, 1945 at Binger, OK to Edward Sr. and Bernice (Harper) Cartwright. He united with St. Paul Baptist Church at an early age. Shortly after leaving high school he joined the Navy where he served for four years. Some time after he returned home he was employed by the Dayton Tire Company in Oklahoma City, OK. Over the course of time he worked other various positions. He remained a bachelor for all of his life. Junior loved outdoor life. Hunting, fishing, and swimming were his favorite pastimes. He departed this life March 31, 2006 at the Oklahoma Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 60 after developing a life threatening illness.
Junior was preceded in death by his father and mother, Edward Sr. and Bernice Cartwright; Three brothers: Sylvester, Lawrence “Casey,” and Alfred Cartwright.
He is survived by three brothers: Kenneth and wife Nealey Cartwright of Binger, OK, Christopher and wife Toni Cartwright of Binger, OK, Jerry and wife Lanita Cartwright of Oklahoma City, OK; Two sisters: Cynthia A. Burdex of Oklahoma City, OK, and Barbara J. Scott of San Pablo, CA; Two Uncles, Columbus Harper and wife Hester of Watonga, OK, and Rev. Jay S. Ross of Oklahoma City, OK; One Aunt: Irish Williams of Gallup, New Mexico as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends. A special friend Mary Beasley and her four children who called him Pops: Linda Baker, Mark Chester, Micheal Mason and Henry Beasley Jr. and their children.
The Cartwright family wishes to express our heart felt thank you to each an every one of you for your kind gestures during our time of bereavement.
