Edna L. Bisel

A graveside funeral service for Edna L. Bisel, 93 will be held Wednesday, 2:00 pm March 22, 2006 at the Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Kellogg officiating.  Wilkinson Mortuary of Okeene, OK in charge of arrangements.

 

Edna was born May 17, 1912 in Okeene, to John and Ida (St. Pierre) Schroeder and passed away Friday March 17, 2006 in Oklahoma City, OK.

 

Edna attended all twelve years in Okeene Public Schools and graduated in 1930.  Edna worked at several jobs in Okeene as was a nanny for several years in Enid.  In 1939 she married Manuel Bisel who already had two sons James W. and Jerry D. (Buddy).  A son, Thomas D. was born in 1943.  Edna was active in child evangelism ministries.  Edna was a member of the First Baptist Church of Okeene and was in many activities through the years.  She was church librarian and taught Sunday School.  She moved to the Baptist Retirement Center in Oklahoma City in 1990.  She was a member of the Highland Hills Baptist church in Oklahoma City at the time of her death.

 

Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel, her parents, John Henry and Ida St. Pierre Schroeder, two brothers, John Milburne and George Roger and four sisters, Fannie Henrietta Pope, Anna Laura Coil, Marguart Ruth Schroeder and Hazel Mildred Schroeder, one step-son, Jerry D. Bisel and one granddaughter.

 

Survivors include son Thomas D. Bisel of St. Louis Missouri and step-son James W. and his wife Wanda, of Ashland, Kansas and nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
