F. Marie Coburn Fincher F. Marie Coburn Fincher was born May 5, 1921 in Ink, Arkansas to Jno (pronounced John) Rhodes and Rinda Irene (Brewer) White. She passed away Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the Crestridge Place in Watonga, OK at the age of 85. Marie came to Oklahoma when she was 2 years old and settled in the Etna Community. She was united in marriage to Velmer O. “Dutch” Coburn September 1, 1938 in Greenfield, OK and he preceded her in death March 1, 1966. She later married Glenn W. Fincher January 30, 1971 in Geary, OK and he preceded her in death May 26, 1990. Marie was a housewife and helped Dutch with the farming, after his death, Jeff took over the family farm and she helped him farm and worked at HollyTex in Watonga. After marrying Glenn Fincher, they moved to Guymon, OK and she helped him with his insurance business and worked at the Hospital in the cafeteria. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Watonga where she volunteered to help in any and all church activities. She worked at the “Jesus Closet” every week, and was a member of the “Kitchen Band” at the church. If any one was in need of help of any kind Marie was there to help. She was a member of the RSVP Club, and received the award of “Outstanding Member” one year. Marie loved her family, church, basketball, music, jokes, and life itself. All you had to say was, “Do you want to go…? and before you could say where, she had her purse and was ready to go.
Marie was preceded in death by both husbands, her parents, 4-brothers, 2 sisters, and one son Jeffrey Lynn Coburn April 10, 1946 - September 8, 1977.
Survivors include: two daughters, Janice Coble and her husband Jerry of Geary, OK, and Rinda Wolgamott and her husband Monte of Guymon, OK; grandchildren: two grandsons, Keven Coble of Watonga, OK, and Reese Wolgamott and his wife Heather, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, one granddaughter, Ann Marie Wright and her husband David of Hereford, TX; great-grandchildren: four great-grandsons, Dylan Gilbert, Jackson, Riley, and Jace Wolgamott, three great-granddaughters, Ashton, Darby, and Catyn Wright; also survived by three stepsons, Larry, Leon, and Gary Fincher; three stepdaughters, Glenda Coffey, Linda Ezzell, and Debbie Hicks; 15-step-grandchildren, and many step great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Russell-Murray Hospice, El Reno, OK; First Christian Church, Geary, OK; Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, Guymon, OK; First Baptist Church, Watonga, OK or the memorial of you choice.
