Kenneth Gene Rowland was born June 4, 1928 in Geary, Oklahoma to Quinton “Abe” and Kathryn (Shumate) Rowland.  He passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006 at the Alterra Sterling House in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 77.  Gene was united in marriage to June Anna Vaughn April 13, 1961 in Tulsa, OK.  He lived and farmed in the Geary area most of his life.  Gene was a Korean Air Force Veteran and worked for Canadian County as a truck driver where he retired in 1990.

 

SURVIVORS INCLUDE:

His wife June Rowland of Hydro, OK; one daughter, Anna Rowland Penrod and her husband Dan of Geary, OK; one step-son, John Brewer of Lake Worth, FL; and one sister, Kay Robinson of Geary, OK 

 

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Margie Gates.
