Lyndell Darrel 'Ace' Griffin Sr. Lyndell Darrel 'Ace' Griffin Sr. was born 21 September 1948 to the late William Jefferson 'Bill' and Erma McFee Griffin Henson outside Clarksville, AR, and went home to be with the Lord on 18 April 2008 in Watonga, OK. He married Louise Cook of Fairview, Oklahoma on 20 May 1966 at Cherokee, Oklahoma while they were both just 17 years old. He has two sons, James of Loyal, Oklahoma and Lyndell 'Lynn' Jr. of Fredericksburg, Virginia. He was blessed with three granddaughters, Kayleigh, Jayme and Jordyn, one grandson Kade and one great grandson Johnathan all of Loyal, Oklahoma. He has two brothers, Arthur Brandenburg and wife Linda of Clarksville, Arkansas, Ronnie Griffin and wife Mary of Fairview, Oklahoma, two sisters Glenda wife of Bill Thornburg of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Fay wife of the late Milo Hoffman of Fairview, Oklahoma, and numerous nephews and nieces. Lyndell moved to Fairview, Oklahoma September 1965. He worked in the oil field all his adult life, 21 years with Weatherford International as a field salesman. He talked of going back to work up until he was so weak he finally said I guess everyone knows I am not going o be able to go back to work. Even when he didn't know anyone he was lining up trucks to be at a well sight and had Louise looking to see if she could see them coming down the highway or around the corner and had to make sure no one parked behind his truck so he couldn't get out. He moved his family to Watonga, 14 August, 1980. He did very well for his family with only a 7th grade education. Lyndell and Louise married 20 May 1966, the day after she graduated from Fairview High School while they were just 17 years old. A celebration of life for Ace will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at the Fay auditorium in Fay, Oklahoma at 2:00 pm with Rev. Randy Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, Oklahoma. Arrangements by Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
