L.P. “Tick” Taylor
L.P. “Tick” Taylor was born March 10, 1935 at Blufton, Arkansas to Bill and Lucille (Carpenter) Taylor. He passed away Friday, January 13, 2006 at his home near Swan Lake at the age of 70. He was united in marriage to Lois Carter on July 2, 1966 in Borger, Texas. Tick worked as a foreman for E.D. Baker Paving Co. for a number of years. He moved from Borger, TX to the Swan Lake area in April 1991. He was the fire chief and long time member of the Swan Lake fire department. Tick was a Baptist, and he loved being outdoors. While living in Borger he was a member of the Ambucs until moving to Oklahoma. He loved his kids and grandchildren and cherished all other children. He missed all his brothers terribly. He always said that when he gets to heaven with them there would be a great thunderstorm for them leaving him here by himself to take care of that little sister. Tick had lots of friends that were very special to him. He loved to fish and was a great threat to all catfish around. When he was a kid he had several cousins around the same age. They specialized in creek bank climbing and fishing, frog gigging, and lots of other misbehaving. Tick and Lois enjoyed their time together. They enjoyed traveling and going to family reunions to visit.
