Peggy Henderson
 

Peggy L. Henderson was born December 24, 1940 in Boaz, Alabama to William Henderson and Lillie Mae Spears Henderson, and passed away Friday, March 27, 2009 at the age of 68. She was a resident of Enid, Oklahoma where she lived for 3 years and was retired from the nursing profession.  She was raised as a child in the Southard area and later also lived in Watonga as an adult. She was married to Dr. Norman J. Newell who preceded her in death in 1981. She and Dr. Newell worked in the medical profession in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

 

She was also preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Mae Spears Satterfield, her father, William Henderson, her brother, Charles Ray Henderson, and her sister, Margaret Spears.

 

She is survived by two daughter, Sharon Reiber and her husband Stephen Reiber of Geary, Oklahoma, Deborah Bynum of Carrolton, Texas and one son, Richard Cherry of Whitehouse, Tennessee.  She is also survived by one granddaughter who she raised to adulthood, Jessica Black of Atmore, Alabama. Also surviving Peggy are seven other grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

 

Graveside funeral services for Peggy Henderson will be held Monday, March 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga, Oklahoma with Reverend Dwight McGee officiating.  Burial services will follow with Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kindey Cancer Association, P.O.
