Ruby Gooden was born February 1917 at Hinton, Oklahoma to Roy and Minnie Derry and passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the age of 90.

She was a resident of the Watonga community most of her life where she was a homemaker.  She attended Greenfield Schools and was a twenty-five year member of the Extension Homemakers.  She loved to crochet and quilt.

She was married to Thurmel Gooden at Watonga on August 1934.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, three sisters, one son; Troy Gooden and one great great infant grandson.

She is survived by:

     one son, John Gooden of Alvin, Texas
     two daughters, Darlene Ray of Watonga and Carol Winn and husband Bert of Watonga
     three sisters, Wilma McLaughlin of Watonga and Nita Huff of Watonga and Betty Nitzel of Geary
     nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Ruby will be held Friday, June 1, 2007 at 2:00 pm at East Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Watonga with Rev. Doug Jackson officiating.  Arrangements by Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga.

Memorial contributions may be made to the East Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Association with Wilkinson Mortuary as custodians.
