Thelma Eunice Knapp Thelma Eunice Knapp was born December 16, 1914 at Greenfield, Oklahoma to Laura and J.F. Awtrey and died May 12, 2007 at the age of 92. She was a member of the Greenfield and Watonga communities all of her life. She graduated from Greenfield High School an married Lawrence Knapp on April 6, 1935. They made their home in Greenfield where she worked in her father's grocery store and later for her brother, Conn, when he became owner. She also sold Avon cosmetics. In 1976, she and Lawrence moved to Watonga after purchasing Watonga butane. Thelma was bookkeeper for the business. Thelma was a member of the Watonga Baptist Church, where she participated for several years with the Ladies' Kitchen Band. She was also a member of the Greenfield Eastern Star. Thelma had been a resident of the Crestridge Nursing Home, in Watonga, for the past year. She is survived by one son, Richard Knapp and his wife, Betty of Greenfield; two daughter, Judy McLaughlin and her husband, R.A., of Watonga, Jane Zeka and her husband Larry of Canton; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Sue, six brothers, and 3 sisters. Graveside services for Thelma Knapp will be on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 10:30 am at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga, Oklahoma with the Reverend Rick Harrison officiating. Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Baptist Children's Home through the funeral home. |
