Wayne S. Throgmorton, 92, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday in Westview Christian Church with Jack Weems, pastor of First Christian Church in Dimmitt, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Watonga IOOF Cemetery in Watonga, Okla. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St.

Mr. Throgmorton was born Aug. 14, 1915, in Southard, Okla. He moved to Amarillo in 1997 from Annandale, Va. He lived in Enid and Watonga before moving to Annandale. He worked for U.S. Gypsum for 38 years, retiring in 1979 as the quality control supervisor. Mr. Throgmorton was a member of West View Christian Church.

He married Hattie Kohl in 1934. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1997.

He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter and a great-granddaughter.

Survivors include two daughters, Ellen Throgmorton of Amarillo and Sue Schnell and husband Keith of Lakeway; a son, Wayne Throgmorton and wife Becky of Panhandle; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be sent to the building fund, Westview Christian Church, 6810 Hillside Road, Amarillo, TX 79109.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Jan. 17 at the funeral home.
