The Watonga Lions Club cook and sell hamburgers at the Cheese Festival each year to raise money for their 'Scholastic Program'.

This year 21 Seniors who have been listed on the National Honor Roll or the Oklahoma Honor Roll or have been involved in the Quiz Bowl Team or the Scholastic Team will be invited to present a three-minute speech at Lions Club on April 5th.

One of the scholarships is named for the late Mike May, and another for the late Byron Wolfe; both were very active Lions Club members.

Five Seniors will be selected to each receive a $500 Scholarship. The Watonga Lions Club will give recognition at the banquet to all the Seniors by giving them a plaque. The Watonga Lions Club will also invite the Kiwanis to this banquet so that they can award their scholarships as well as the American Legion and the Watonga Foundation for Academic Excellence.

On April 19, 2005, The Watonga Lions Club
will award recognition to 109 students from Watonga
Schools from the 6th grade to the 12th grade.
